The staff are unbelievable, there is nothing they will not do to help you enjoy your stay. The food was fantastic, plenty of choice at each meal and always piping hot. The only gripe about the food I had was other tourists who refused to put the lids back on the hot trays leaving the food open - but that was not the fault of the hotel or staff. I went deep sea fishing with Nathan, absolutely breathtaking - I caught a baracuda. My friend went on Safari with Chiko off the beach, a great saving on First Choice and she had a fantastic time. The rooms are spacious, decor a bit jaded in places but they were spotless - so clean you could eat off the floor, bed linen was changed every other day and towels changed daily even though I hung them up on the rails again (now come one who at home changes their towels every day and bed linen every other day?); will I go back again, you bet, in fact the day after I returned home I booked again for next October. Don't be afraid to go out and about, both this year and last I went out on my own TIP: visit Mtwapa (taxi about 2000 khs - £16 round trip and the taxi will wait for you) Mtwapa by day is bustling but it really comes alive at night - nice bars, great restaurants and you are able to sample the real Kenya. Don't be afraid, just take the same care as you would walking the streets back home and you will be perfectly safe. Most of the feedback I have read sounds very positive and I would be glad to stay somewhere that seems to take some social responsibility in the local area also. Please advise: Best currency to take, good trips and rough idea of prices, ease/expense of getting around away from the resort, best items to take for local people. Also, is the beach as bad as some seem to be saying? Is it possible to snorkel or is reef too high?
